Five hikers came prepared for precipitation that ultimately didn't materialize. It had rained overnight but thankfully we were greeted by blue skies and various clouds at the Woodruff Bridge TH. Hiking along the river in the shade of evergreen giants, moss covered rocks and layers of forest floor decay feels nurturing (at least to me). The deciduous plants were just starting to push out new leaf buds. We didn’t see any mushrooms, lots and lots of lichens & mosses though. We saw one trillium bloom and a few snow queens. We encountered seven downfalls and three other groups of people enjoying this beautiful area.
We hiked a total of 8.2 miles (according to my AllTrails) Temps were mid 50-62.
