TH: Follow Table Rock Road (off Biddle Road in Central Point) for 5.2 miles; turn right on Modoc Road for 1.5 miles to the trailhead parking area; EDT: 45 min. Description: Follow the trail to the top of the mesa, then walk along Meadowlark Lane past the FAA VHF-VOR airways beacon to the Sam’s Valley overlook; return to the frog pond for lunch. View Spring flowers and surroundings. Distance: 8.2 miles; elevation gain: 900 feet. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 50 miles.
April 13: North Elk Creek Park to the Notched Dam.
Directions to TH, up Highway 62 past Shady Cove to the Elk Creek turn off on the left. Drive 8 miles to the Homestead TH parking lot. Walk about 5 miles down to the dam. RT mileage 100 miles. Weather forecast.
April 20: Horseshoe Ranch (CA) leave CVS parking at 8:30.
TH: From Ashland travel 35 miles south on I5 to exit 789. From the exit ramp turn left and head east through Hornbrook on Copco Road. Continue on Copco road 8.3 miles to the Lakeview road junction. Stay on Copco road for another 4.4 miles to the Horseshoe Ranch Trailhead which is on the left at Scotch Creek. Description: This 9,100 acres Wilderness Area is the only section of the Cascade - Siskiyou Monument in California. We'll do a 6.3 mile out and back along Scotch Creek. We should see wildflowers and maybe some wild horses.

April 27: Lower Layton Mine Ditch Trail, Part 2, Williams, OR.
TH: North on I-5 to exit 55 for Grants Pass. Follow Highway 199 for 3 miles to a left on Highway 238 towards Williams. South on the Williams Highway to the town of Williams, then south on the East Fork Road to a left (east) turn onto Panther Gulch Road (Bureau of Land Management Road 39-5-2). Head east on Panther Gulch for 2.3 miles (paved, then good gravel) to a T-junction and park. Weather forecast. RT mileage: 100 miles.
